Shooting in California has become a record in the United States

The mass shooting in the American city of Monterey Park, California, as a result of which 10 people were killed and at least 10 others were injured, became a record number of victims after the attack on a school in the town of Yuvalde, Texas in May 2022, according to the non-profit organization Gun Violence Archive.

According to the published tabular values, as a result of the attack on the school in Yuvalda, 22 people were killed and 17 more were injured.

At the same time, since the beginning of 2023, the Gun Violence Archive has already recorded 33 cases of mass shooting in the United States, to which the organization refers the use of violence using firearms, as a result of which 4 or more people are killed or injured.

The shooting in Monterey Park took place in a dance studio where the celebration of the Chinese New Year was taking place. It was noted that before that “thousands” of people had attended the New Year’s festival.

Law enforcement officials say that the motive for the crime has not yet been established. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect remains at large. The police are looking for him.
